When my mother passed away, and my sister and I became the owners of her Heritage Village condo, the first thing I did was call three Realtors for a market analysis. I am a former Realtor and now live out of state, so I knew the importance of getting good advice on pricing the condo competitively. Mary Early was one of the Realtors I called in - I will admit that I picked Mary to call because of her many community volunteer activities listed on her online bio! As a marketing professional in the nonprofit world, I felt that showed some of her character. I was immediately comfortable with Mary when we met, and liked her common sense advice and also her attention to detail.

The condo already had many upgrades going for it, and we invested in replacing all the kitchen appliances with stainless steel (one of Mary's suggestions), and also had the condo professionally painted among other things. After those improvements, we invited the Realtors back in. Their original market analysis prices had been $70,000 apart! On the second go-round Mary's suggested list price was the lowest, however, she LISTENED to us and heard that we did not want to sit on the condo for months while paying the condo fees, and that we wanted to realistic in the pricing and most of all, competitive with the 30 of the same type of unit on the market at that time. I even had Mary take me around to see 3 competing properties so that I could determine if her suggested list price was correct.

As a marketing professsional, I like Mary's emphasis on getting other Realtors in the door to see our unit because I knew that the price, condition and location were outstanding, but they needed to SEE it. If Realtors think a property is overpriced, they won't show it to their customers. Mary's Realtor broker tour was well attended even on a rainy day because she serves delicious food, and with 50 properties to choose from to see that day, great food can get folks in the door. They confirmed that Mary's advice on the listing price was spot on. Our eventual buyer actually came as a result of the broker tour. I also appreciated the little touches, like providing surgical booties at the door to keep the floors clean. Finally, I needed someone I could get along with from 500 miles away. Mary was that person. I trusted her, liked her, and was confident in her advice. My standards are high, but so are Mary's.

Long story short - we had an offer within 3 weeks, and closed in just over a month after that. Mary was wonderful in lining up contractors to help take care of the few minor items on the inspection list. Just before our closing, I checked the competing properties that we had viewed, and they were still on the market. Mary was a pleasure to work with - so much so that I asked her if I could write this testimonial for her. If you are looking for someone who will tell it like it is in this tough real estate market so that you property will SELL, and you are willing to listen to that advice, do yourself a favor and call Mary Early.
