About Laura Brooks

Bio

In 2007 Laura Brooks moved from Durham, North Carolina to the Pioneer Valley and quickly understood the title of “the Happy Valley”. Her first home in New England, a fixer upper built in 1875, set Laura on a mission to learn how to make an old drafty house into a comfortable home. Laura became fascinated by the building science behind comfort and discovered her passion for residential energy efficiency which led her to work as an energy auditor, public speaker and eventually a solar energy consultant. Solar has swept MA and whether the home you are selling has it or you want to make sure your new home can have it, Laura uses her knowledge in the solar industry to your best advantage. Her current home was built in 1905, and she and her sons often tackle home projects as a team. Laura has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Alfred University. Leaving NC she closed a chapter in her life as the owner and primary photographer of a fine art wedding and portrait studio. She loves helping sellers craft powerfully engaging listings through her design and photographic skills. Laura’s “super power” behind the camera was her ability to help subjects feel completely at ease. She brings that same calming presence to her relationships with buyers and sellers.
