Jim was born in Cleveland, Ohio, attended high school in Edina, Minnesota and attended Saint Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. He married Linda in 1982 and they raised their family in the Brainerd Lakes Area of Minnesota. Jim has a Minnesota Real Estate Brokers license, a salesperson license in Virginia and a Florida Broker's license. Jim is active in the real estate markets of Florida, Minnesota, and Virginia.

Jim is a Minnesota State Bar Association Certified Real Property Law Specialist. He is one of fewer than five hundred attorneys in the State of Minnesota with this designation. Jim is a former member of the Title Standards Committee of the Real Property Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association. As a Minnesota Real Property Law Specialist, Jim has extensive real estate transaction experience. He routinely represents buyers, sellers, lenders, credit unions, and banks. Jim has a broad range of residential and commercial property experience. Jim is helpful with 1031 exchanges, common interest communities, HOA's, condominiums, cooperatives and townhomes.
