Michele Kelsey has summered and worked with friends on Nantucket since 1984. She received a degree in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine, where she also studied land use planning. While in college she lived in St. John, USVI, studying the Strombus Gigus (Queen Conch). She also spent one summer participating in a field study conducted by The Nantucket Conservation Foundation in its effort to preserve the habitat of the island?s endangered Short-eared Owl. Michele moved to Nantucket full time in 1990, and married Lewis Kelsey, a finish carpenter from Maine in 1995. Michele enjoyed helping him with the actual construction of the home in which they raised their daughter Hannah, and son Garrett. She was an active participant in her children?s school activities and served as a Board Member of the Children?s House of Nantucket for six years, and a board member of the Nantucket Skating Club. Michele has worked at Jordan Real Estate as a broker for the past 22 years. She earned her Realtor GRI (Graduate of Realtor Institute) designation as well as her SFR (Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource) certification. Professional & Personal Bio Michele Kelsey has summered and worked with friends on Nantucket since 1984, developing a lifelong connection to the island and its unique coastal environment. She received her degree in Human Ecology from the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine, where she also studied land use planning. During her studies, Michele lived in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, where she studied the Strombus gigas (Queen Conch), and later participated in a field study conducted by the Nantucket Conservation Foundation focused on preserving the habitat of the island?s endangered short-eared owl. Michele moved to Nantucket full-time in 1990 and married Lewis Kelsey, a finish carpenter from Maine, in 1995. Together, they built the home where they raised their two children, Hannah and Garrett, with Michele actively involved in the building process and deeply engaged in family life. She has been a dedicated member of the community, serving for six years as a Board Member of the Children?s House of Nantucket and also as a board member of the Nantucket Skating Club. In her professional career, Michele has worked as a broker with Jordan Real Estate for 22 years before the firm merged with William Raveis Real Estate in December 2024, where she continues her work today. Over the course of her career, she has been fortunate to participate in transactions across all segments of the market?from median home sales to some of the highest-value properties on the island?and takes great pride in treating every client with the same level of care, attention, and professionalism. She holds the Realtor GRI (Graduate, REALTOR? Institute) designation as well as her SFR (Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource) certification.
