"We were under the gun to get our house sold and buy in a new neighborhood before the school year began. It was, I think, a typical scenario for a couple with two young children - toys everywhere, too much stuff in general, various odd jobs pending (none quite large enough to merit figuring out who to call or when), and definitely too much in the basement, like everything we put down there somehow multiplied. One Realtor came through the house and said we would be lucky to get $275K. At that price, selling would have been really tough.
