"There are not enough positive adjectives to describe Wendy and the job she did helping us find our new home in Connecticut. Although we are seasoned homebuyers, Wendy helped us traverse the unfamiliar Connecticut market and the many differences that come from buying a home here. From making sure we understood what owning a home with oil and septic systems require (we'd never experienced either) to what it means to have a shared driveway, my husband and I felt that we had the information needed at every step of the home buying process. One of the things we appreciated most was Wendy's actions BEFORE we arrived in Connecticut for our actual house hunting trip to help us narrow down our search. We appreciated her truly diligent work in areas, even as a seasoned homebuyer, we wold not have considered such as making sure permits for work done on the house were in order or pulled (they weren't) and making sure all other issues were dealt with. She put in so many hours to help us get to closing and was our eyes and ears on the ground in Connecticut while we wrapped up in Minnesota. Finally, we just plan like Wendy! Her gracious, thoughtful, friendly personality was so easy to work with. Finding the right real estate agent is tough, and we actually found Wendy by posing as buyers going to many open houses! After meeting different agents who we considered "a bit negative, uninterested, or simply too pushy" - we visited an open house with Wendy. "Wendy was referred to us by a colleague of mine. Our family was in a challenging situation as we were moving from Japan during a time when houses in our desired town were in very high demand and supply was very limited. We started our search from Japan and Wendy was outstanding: she was very patient in hearing our needs and getting to know family by taking phone calls at odd times given the time zones challenges. Wendy showed us a number of properties while we were remote before we moved back to the US. Since we couldn't be there ourselves, Wendy not only showed us the property but also served as our advocate during the search process. There were a few homes that seemed attractive to us initially but, when she saw them on our behalf, Wendy was very diligent in looking at the property, going through town records and checking with others in the area to do her very deep diligence on the property. Because of the very challenging market conditions, we were required to move into a rental property before completing our home search. While in our rental, Wendy continued to be very attentive to our ultimate home search and actively kept us apprised of what was happening in the market and which properties were becoming available. She was also very sensitive to the difficulties in moving back to the US after being abroad for several years and helped us get acclimated to the town.
