Tarrytown is located on the eastern shore of the Hudson River, approximately 26 miles north of Manhattan. Like Sleepy Hollow, one of its neighboring villages, Tarrytown is steeped in history. It is often the choice village of all the Rivertowns to visit if you are looking for excitement and energy. Lyndhurst, the former home of Jay Gould, is probably the most notable as it is one of the few examples of gothic architecture. It is also the site of many outdoor events during the summer.
