Bayley Beach is the town beach, complete with pavilion, picnic tables and playground. Pinkney Park is a treasure: a spacious property bordering the Five Mile River with ancient apple trees and an 1820 farmhouse housing the Rowayton Historical Society. There, the village holds community events. On Highland Avenue, the stables of an old estate have been converted into a library and community center – home to a farmers’ market in the summer. The Rowayton Fire Department is a volunteer group. The Rowayton Arts Center, Historical Society and Rowayton Gardeners are all run by volunteers, contributing to the flavor of the village.
