After two decades as a business owner and sales and marketing professional, Judy Croyle made a big move and became a licensed realtor in 2003. Now she's helping others do the same as an agent with the Providence office of William Raveis Chapman Enstone.
Judy relocated to Providence nearly a decade ago from Connecticut and quickly became an "outsider-turned-insider." Her thorough knowledge of the area grew from the ground up after hitting the pavement daily with her canine companion, Andi.
As she explored the neighborhoods in the capital city, stunning examples of craftsmanship and detail in many of the area's older properties drew her eye. Judy, who graduated with a BFA from The School for American Craftsmen, Rochester Institute of Technology, took her interest in historic homes a step further, becoming a Providence Preservation Society Historic House Specialist. With her designation, Judy is specially equipped to help buyers who are looking for old fixer-uppers – or what others might call antique charmers. Her experience with historic home transactions, city requirements for renovations and a network of restoration contractors can help clients see their future in the past.
Judy's also focused on another aspect of the future: our environment. With buyers' increasing interest and investment in green construction, she knew it was critical to understand the energy efficiency and sustainability issues that come into play in various aspects of real estate. To assist clients, Judy earned her Green Designation from the National Association of Realtors and can lend her knowledge and awareness about the top factors buyers should consider when looking to reduce their footprint.
Looking even further ahead, Judy also assists those transitioning to empty nests, second homes or mature residences through her Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation. Her education in this area gives her working knowledge to counsel older clients through major lifestyle transitions, including relocating, refinancing or selling the family home.
Having not purchased a house in a while, it’s easy to forget just what an ordeal it can be. The nuances are endless and the process complex. It is, financially and emotionally, one of the biggest decisions one must to make in a lifetime and few people make it more than a handful of times. In short, ...
